(I apologise in advance for the HUGE amount of writing, anyone who remembers me from here 3 years ago will acknowledge my tendancy to ramble on....a lot! Haha)
Heeeeeeeeeey people!! Yes it's me, i'm back after what must be well over 3 years of distinct-lack-of-DA-activityness!!!! And I have to say, a helluva lot's happened in all that time!!.... Seems like now should be the time to explain my disappearance....
Right well basically for the past 7 or 8 years myself and my 3 closest friends have been together as a PC-based games-creation and design collective, of which I came up with the name all those years ago: PSYNC Interactive (
[link]). Only in the past 2 years or so has it really kicked off properly and I personally have had a helluva lot more involvement in that time, mainly on character designs, music creation, textures, voice acting and various other bits. At this current time we have only really completed one actual game, albeit a short 3-level affair that was only done in 6 months. In retrospect it looks a little shoddy in many areas, the character being my personal dislike (the movement is dodgy as well as he actual model and texture mapping). But to be fair, this was all due to the short time scale (it was actually as one of our collective member's uni project, of which he was obviously supposed to do on his own but hey.... he graduated, and it all helped with the learning curve for all of us) We've all learnt a lot, Jim's our programmer and general tech wiz - at the mo he's researching the Direct X programming language, along with the aide of Sid, our newest member. John, our 3D modelling guy (as well as other things, one of which being the creator of our brand-spanking new gorgeous-looking updated website) has moved up north to Lancaster for a job since last year, however he is still very much involved with PSYNC and his job helps with our cause. Viz is our dark horse of the bunch in a way, originally he had no official 'job' title, and was just helping here and there. But it turns out that he picks up things very fast and so far he's delved into doing our texturing, 3D-modeling of my characters, animation and a bit of voice-acting too. At the moment he has been researching into various rendering techniques as we are using Maya for our 3D work. It is so soooo satisfying to see MY characters come to life in 3D form.... And all exactly how they look in 2D form too! All good, baby....
So anyhoo, in all that time I haven't really had the time or inclination to upload any artwork onto DA, and onnly occasionally come on here to see any new artwork by people. But now i feel the time's right to start putting more of my stuff on here, namely my character designs and the 3D versions and also any artwork i've done in-between for my self.
Let's hope that there'll be more activity from myself over the next year.... To anyone who knows me or remembers me, I hope you're all well and I look forward to getting back on track and exchanging comments, compliments and crtiques on each other's artwork....
.... peace, out.
