Artist's Comments

....and here it is, the third 'instalment' of my Persona non Grata series.... i went for something different this time, obviously to fit the mood and emotion within the image.... i'm pleased (as with the other two 'PnG' pics) with the pose, and i'm liking how even with a character without any obvious facial features (apart from the dark chasm-like eye-sockets) i can express a feeling or emotion using other body language apart from facial expressions..... at least i think i do........... i'm not sure about a next pic, it may just be a temporary 'trilogy' for now, but i'm certainly not gonna leave it at that! After considering and playing with the idea of possibly creating some sort of short graphic novel for PnG over the past few days, i actually came up with a few brief ideas for it.... very brief VAGUE ideas, but i know where i want it to go. I'd be interested in other people's views/comments/ideas nonetheless, to possibly give me even more insight and inspiration.... peace, out

Comics fill the void

We're all beautiful on the inside...
No wait, that's not true.

Oh..I like it...it's so dark and well...dark. I mean, the tones etc used on the little cut up person, are perfect for this sickly, afraid, abused (self abused?) little being, and the big looming shadow is intimidating, but it may well be help coming through that open door...
Mmm...I like it...

Another great piece, you certainly do capture stiches' emotions through body language. I think this series is great and I certainly hope you do more

thanks all for the comments :) i appreciate it a lot.... seein' as i've submitted 3 of these now, and i've had a good response to all of them, i feel i should continue with the 'graphic novel/short story' idea starring my troubled, cut-up little friend 'Stitches'....(i probably woulda done even if i had not-so-good replies but now i have more incentive to go further)..... the story would be along the same lines as the single images, but obviously i'd have to expand on that otherwise it would get very boring.... there would be elements of dark humour (as is my way ;)), self-hurt, violence (that sounds harsh :S), emotions, symbolism and occasional lightheartedness.... as soon as i come up with sketches/ideas, you will be the first to know here on DA :) thanks again................ and funny you should mention The Wall herrdoktorknave, all this morning i've been playing some of the moodier albums of my CD collection to encourage my thoughts, and my Pink Floyd back-catalogue just happened to be part of it (well i say back catalogue, i've only got Dark Side of The Moon, Meddle, Wish You Were Here and the Echoes greatest hits album.... but i've been playing Tangerine Dream as well so that helped too :))

I like it, its moody. Its very disturbing, just from the images and what you make from it. Great job!!!

excellent! the body language is very good and i like that little white line around his shoulders to give the effect of shivering. Very nice and i'm happy you're gonna do more of it!
